From “Sudan: The New Pharaohs” to “Here Is Sudan,” filmmaker Hossam Nageeb helped define the visual and media identity of Black Pharaoh as the Sudanese team made its way onto the world stage — and ultimately to a 2026 Formula 4 world title.

When Black Pharaoh began building its ambitious motorsport project around the goal of representing Sudan on the international stage, the team understood that success would require more than strong performances on the water.

It also needed a story, a recognizable identity and a compelling way to present that journey to audiences around the world.

That is where filmmaker and director Hossam Nageeb entered the picture.

Black Pharaoh brought Nageeb on board because of his extensive experience in filmmaking, particularly in short-form documentaries, visual storytelling and media production.

His role, however, quickly extended beyond directing films.

Nageeb began working with the team on media strategy, communications guidance, advertising concepts and the overall direction of its visual content, helping establish a more coherent and international-facing identity.

“Sudan: The New Pharaohs” — Setting the Direction

One of the first major creative milestones in that relationship was Nageeb’s documentary “Sudan: The New Pharaohs.”

The film was designed as more than a record of a sports team competing abroad.

It introduced a broader narrative — one that connected Black Pharaoh’s racing ambitions with Sudanese identity, national pride and the idea of athletes serving as representatives of their country on the global stage.

In many ways, the film helped establish the direction the team would follow in the years ahead.

Rather than treating each race as an isolated sporting event, Black Pharaoh increasingly presented its international campaign as part of a larger story: Sudan competing, representing and seeking a place among the world’s best.

That philosophy became a defining part of the team’s media identity.

Beyond Filmmaking

Nageeb’s involvement continued to expand as the project developed.

His contribution was not limited to documenting races or producing promotional videos. Through media consulting, advertising and creative direction, he worked on the way the team, its drivers and its achievements were presented to the public.

The objective was to create a visual language that audiences could immediately associate with Black Pharaoh and with Sudan.

That approach became even more visible with Nageeb’s next major documentary project.

“Here Is Sudan”

With “Here Is Sudan,” Nageeb moved beyond the traditional structure of a sports documentary.

The film focused not only on boats and racing, but also on the people behind the team — their preparation, pressure, ambitions, challenges and the human moments that unfold away from the starting line.

At the center of the film was Sudan itself.

The competition became the backdrop for a wider story about a team trying to present a different image of the country — one defined by ambition, professionalism and international competition.

The documentary was later broadcast by multiple television channels and media platforms, expanding the team’s visibility beyond the relatively specialized world of powerboat racing.

For Black Pharaoh, “Here Is Sudan” became part of the wider effort to build a recognizable global identity.

When Image and Performance Come Together

While the team’s media presence continued to evolve, Black Pharaoh was also making progress where it mattered most — on the water.

During the 2026 season, that progress culminated in a major sporting achievement as Black Pharaoh reached the top of the Formula 4 powerboat world championship, securing a world title and placing Sudan on an international podium.

The championship was won through the work of the drivers, technical team, management and everyone involved in the sporting operation.

But alongside that competitive success, Nageeb’s work played a different role: turning results into stories, performances into images and a racing campaign into an identity that audiences could recognize.

That distinction is important.

Filmmaking did not win the races. But it helped ensure that the significance of those victories could travel beyond the racecourse.

Recognition From the Team

Black Pharaoh later honored Nageeb for his contribution to the team’s media development, visual identity and international image.

The recognition reflected a partnership that had grown far beyond the conventional relationship between a filmmaker and the subject he was documenting.

From the early media consultation and advertising work to “Sudan: The New Pharaohs” and “Here Is Sudan,” Nageeb became part of the wider effort to define how Black Pharaoh would be seen by the outside world.

It was a creative journey that developed alongside the team itself.

From Sudan to the World

In modern sport, trophies alone do not build enduring identities.

Results create champions. But stories, images and a clear sense of identity are what allow those champions to be recognized and remembered.

That is where Hossam Nageeb’s contribution to Black Pharaoh has been most visible.

What began with a filmmaker helping shape the direction of an emerging Sudanese racing project evolved into a broader creative partnership — one that documented, framed and helped communicate the team’s rise internationally.

The journey began with “Sudan: The New Pharaohs.”

It continued with “Here Is Sudan.”

And in 2026, one of its defining chapters was written when Black Pharaoh reached the top of the world in Formula 4 powerboat racing.

For Nageeb, the camera was never simply there to record the story.

It helped give that story a voice.
